CBD hasn’t been around long enough for most of us to know what types of CBD products are available and which form is best for our desired results. CBD can be extremely effective for pain symptoms, anxiety, depression, insomnia, acne, aches and pains. However, it’s confusing to know what kinds of CBD would work best for what. Always drink plenty of water so that your body effectively can manage your CBD intake.

Tinctures

Tinctures are arguably one of the most effective forms to consistently take CBD. Gummies, lotions, and vapes typically reign over tinctures but tinctures reign over them in effectiveness.

Tinctures are dropper bottles and come in a range of dosage sizes, this bottle below is a 300 mg bottle. Each 1 mL equals 10 mg of CBD. To administer the CBD, put a full dropper (1mL) of CBD under your tongue, hold for 60-90 seconds and then swallow. Take this dose one to three times a day as needed, and minimize the dose as you see fit to your desired results. You should feel the effects of CBD within 30 minutes to an hour after. You should expect lower stress, increased focus, and lower pain.

Bloom Farms is of my favorite tincture brands. Use DELANEYLAWRENCE15 for 15% off every order.

Tinctures are particularly effective for someone who consistently uses CBD and wants to manage daily anxiety, stress, and depression. A tincture is more consistent per dosage compared to a gummy or lotion. Production is not always a perfect process, so you can expect some variance between each gummy you take, compared to a tincture which will be wildly more consistent.

Flower & Pre-Rolls

Flower is probably the second most rare form of CBD that people tend to use, yet a very effective one! Similar to smoking cannabis, smoking CBD can provide immediate relief, quickly resolving a headache or nausea. Using flower offers many benefits providing an entourage effect. The entourage effect is the idea that there are remnants of all cannabinoids such as minuscule amounts of THC (under o.3%), and potentially others such as CBDA, CBDV, CBG, and more! Don’t let the entourage effect scare you, it has been shown in experiments that the best results for patients and users is when cannabinoids work together to give a greater benefit.

One of the best pre-rolls I’ve ever tried is from Barbari Herbals. These spliffs always provide immediate headache relief and have amazing flavor and aroma. They come in a package of 2 per tube and now offer a couple different strains to choose from. For only $10 they are a steal and entirely worth it for some premium hemp flower!

Gummies, Edibles, And Capsules

CBD gummies are somewhat dominating the CBD market right now with their popularity. It’s common for people to feel most comfortable with a CBD gummy, which is totally understandable, they are easy and tasty! A negative attribute about CBD gummies is manufacturing processes and getting a consistent product. Typically, a strong and reputable brand has a great process to ensure quality in each of their products.

Sugar can also be a downside of CBD edibles, especially if you are trying to help with sleep, since sugar can keep you up at night. I’ve never had this issue before, but it’s something to note and consider if sleep is your desired result.

Edibles take a longer time to feel the effects than other forms, but can still be a great option if you are consistently taking them. You may consider having some pre-rolls or vapes on hand if you want instant relief tools.

Taking CBD consistently helps build up long lasting effects in your brain, meaning the more you take it the more effective it is. If you have daily anxiety and/or depression, this is a great way to manage it.

Vapes

Vapes, similar to flower and pre-rolls, are particularly awesome for instant relief. A vape in comparison to flower or pre-rolls is great because you don’t need a lighter or space to smoke.

Smoking manages instant stress, anxiety, nervousness, or any other ill feelings. A vape’s effects will last a shorter amount of time compared to a tincture or a gummy, so if you’re looking to manage your anxiety for longer periods of time it would be smart to pair your vape with a longer lasting product. I always suggest people find a tincture they really like, and then pair it with a low dose vape product.

This particular brand shown above is great because they offer CBD vape pens with the battery included, or excluded if you have your own battery. They also segregate their products by feeling lines (calm, euphoria, focus, etc.), which can help you differentiate your desired results from various products. CannaHemp’s process is to reintroduce terpenes to their CBD concentrates, which just means they add back in natural aromas back into their CBD after it’s concentrated into an oil, to give an even tastier experience.

Topicals (Lotions And Oils)

If you’re looking to use CBD to manage physical pain, a topical is the most effective way to do so. Topicals are lotions or oils that you apply right onto your skin to the targeted areas you want relief. Many topicals have menthol or a cooling ingredient (check out CannaHemp’s Relief Cream) that can help instantly relieve pains. If you would prefer not to have a cooling effect, check the ingredients before you purchase.

A great CBD topical has good consistency, dissolves easily into your skin, and works soon after application.

The CBD balm featured from You Plus CBD is a great topical that does not have a cooling effect. I’ve used this to apply to scars and muscle pains in my neck and have seen great results in both actions.

Note: Menthol and cooling topicals can be painful if you apply them to open wounds and I’d recommend not touching your eyes. If you purchase a cooling topical be sure to wash your hands thoroughly after applying to prevent burning.

Choosing For You

My recommendation is to get two products to try: one that falls into the consistency category (tincture or gummy/edible/capsule) and one that falls into the instant relief category (flower, pre-roll, or vape.) This way you can reap the benefits of consistent CBD relief while trying CBD as a quick fix for high stress and headaches.

However, if you’re searching for something that can help ease muscles and joint pain, I suggest ditching both those options and investing in an effective topical. Topicals are the best at managing targeted body pain and will be all you need to manage it.
